The Government of Karnataka launched Ejanma, a web-based program, in 2014 to satisfy the demand for online registration and documentation of births, deaths, and still deaths that take place in the state. Every State and Union Territory in India is required to register births and deaths under the Registration of Births and Deaths (RBD) Act, of 1969.
