In order to recover the outstanding electricity bill, the Government of Maharashtra has launched Shri Vilasrao Deshmukh Yojana. Under this scheme, those citizens whose electricity connections are permanently disconnected before 31st December will be provided a waiver of interest and late fees on the outstanding bill. With the implementation of these schemes, citizens of the state will be motivated to pay their due electricity bills. Under the scheme, the government is going to provide a 100% interest and late fees waiver to the consumers on depositing the principal amount in one go. Those customers who have High tension connections will get an additional 5% discount. Under this scheme, consumers can deposit 30% of the principal balance in one go and the remaining balance in 6 installments.
Objective Of Shri Vilasrao Deshmukh Abhay Yojana
The main objective of Shri Vilasrao Deshmukh Abhay Yojana is to waive off late fees payment and interest on electricity bills of those consumers whose electricity connection has been permanently disconnected. This scheme will motivate them to pay their electricity bill. The consumers will be allowed to pay 30% of the electricity bill in one go and the remaining amount in installments.
