The Government of Tamil Nadu has launched the Tamil Nadu Higher Education Assurance Scheme. Through this scheme, all those girls who study in government schools will be provided with a monthly deposit to encourage and help them to pursue higher education. The Finance Minister Palanivel Thiaga Rajan announced this scheme on 18th March 2022. Through this scheme, an amount of Rs 1000 will be deposited into the bank account of girls students enrolled in government schools. Around 6 lacs girls will be benefited from this scheme. The government is going to spend a total outlay of 698 crores for the implementation of this scheme.

Objective Of TN Higher Education Assurance Scheme

The main objective of the Higher Education Assurance Scheme is to provide financial assistance to girls so that they can continue their higher education. Now the girls of Tamil Nadu are not required to depend on others for fulfilling their educational needs. As the government is going to provide them with financial assistance. Through this scheme financial assistance of Rs 1000 per month will be provided to the girls. This scheme has been launched to combat the issue of the low enrollment ratio of girls from government schools in higher education. This scheme is also going to increase the literacy rate.
