Kalaignar Sports Kit Scheme – In honour of the centenary of former Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi’s birth, sports equipment will be distributed in 12,000 village panchayats as part of the State government’s “Kalaignar Sports Kit” initiative, which was announced on Wednesday by Minister of Sports Development and Youth Welfare Udhayanidhi Stalin.

Tamil Nadu is going to introduce the Kalaignar Sports Kit Scheme. Students in each of the 12,000 village panchayats will receive free sports kits from the state government as part of the programme, which is akin to the free schoolbooks programme. Trichy will host the scheme’s launch on February 7.
