10th January 2024 Update:- CM MK Stalin started the distribution of Pongal gifts along with dhoti and saree

On Wednesday 10th January 2024, Chief Minister of Tamilnadu Mr MK Stalin started the distribution of Pongal gift hampers to all the 2,19,71,113 rice cardholders of the state. This time, the government has also distributed dhoti and saree to the citizens of the state along with the Pongal parisu. 5th Jan Update:- CM M.K. Stalin Announced Rs 1000 As Pongal Gift For 2024

On January 5, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin declared that households would receive 1,000 rupees as a Pongal gift, except workers of the State and Union governments, income tax assessees, and holders of ration cards for sugar and non-commodities. In addition to the previously planned gift basket containing one kilogram of uncooked rice, one kilogram of sugar, one sugarcane, a dhoti, and a saree, the money will be given out in cash through ration shops before Pongal. Pongal has resulted in the advance disbursement of the 1,000 rupees monthly rights award to women heads of households under the Kalaignar Magalir Urimai Thittam to the bank accounts of 1.15 crore beneficiaries, including the recently added ones.
